Panama: $156 Million to Acquire Medicines

Social Security authorities approved the purchase of biological and biotechnological medicines for a period of 24 months.

The institution informed that they will carry out the corresponding processes to hold the public act 05-2018 for the purchase of these medicines.

From the statement of the Social Security Fund:

November 12th, 2018. With an investment of over 156.1 million balboas, the Social Security Fund (CSS) will purchase biological and biotechnological medicines for a period of 24 months.

This occurs after the SSC Board of Directors approved the acquisition of 39-unit pricing items for the supply, storage, transportation, and delivery of biological and biotechnology medicines.

Biological and biotechnological medicines are used in the Hematology, Rheumatology, Hemodialysis, Neurology and Endocrinology services.

The SSC authorities will carry out the corresponding processes for the public act 05-2018 of these medicines.

The approval of this investment was granted in plenary session of the SSC Board of Directors.
