The search began at dawn using light-wing airplanes, boats, and vehicles to scour the Bay of Panama. According to the Panama Fire Department, the man was traveling in a Chiva parrandera (a bus that tours the city at night playing loud music and serving unlimited drinks). Eder Vallejo, a native of Chiriqui who worked in a San Miguelito distribution company was partying with friends aboard one of the “chiva” buses that tour the city late at night playing loud music and providing passengers with an open bar. The bus stopped on the causeway around 2 a.m. because of an accident ahead, and Vallejo took advantage of the stop to urinate.
