Agree at times there can be very long lines, and O.O.S, especially on weekends! ( Crazy to even drive by the store on the weekends) We usually go early morning Wed or Thursday and 80% of the time a piece of cake. But, Shhhhh. Don't tell everybody! ?

Only 35,000 tickets issued for driving without a license! Wow......when will the others be caught? ?
They need tougher laws. Obviously what they have now is not working. If they caught 35,000 so far this year can you imagine how many are still out there?

Duh. What do you expect when Panama gets known as being the 25th most expensive city in the world? Decline in tourism is a natural and direct result of being too expensive to visit here (or in my case to live here).
Where to go now is my problem.
Many choices!

It truly is a forgotten jewel. Glad to hear they are going to allocate the funds for improvement!

Is it me, or does it not seem that violent crime is on the increase in Panama?

A railway project of the magnitude for Panama is a commitment of several generations. Let’s act with wisdom. – LA PRENSA, Sep 21
I think most Panamanians would agree with that statement. Why not let the citizens vote on this?

Are the cashiers check good to use for paying US bills by mail?

Yep. 100 years in business. Maybe new management beat the company to the ground?

Isn't just about everything here in Panama from China now?

Not to mention the cost to replace your ATM card or if you forgot your pin number. Yes, they charge for a new pin number!

The comments made by Panamanian readers of this article reflect sentiments that the U.S. is being hypocritical and bullying in nature which fits with the State Department's new image.
Same image!
Nothing new about that!

A trusted Panamanian friend has told me that the labor union Sun Tracs plans to close all the Boquete roads on Thursday. Given the state of the roads, it's probably pretty easy to close them.
And the protest is for????

I would like to register my opinion and experiences, but, as Citizen Volunteer Liaison (formerly Warden), I feel compelled to keep my own counsel. I will state the obvious, however: the Embassy would go a long way in restoring the faith of U.S. citizens if it would respond to telephone inquiries more than four hours a week and work harder to see that the federal benefits function is returned to Panama from Costa Rica.
Right on Bonnie!

A number of friends have told me that they would much prefer better service from the Embassy.
You got that right!

What prompted the US Embassy to schedule this safety meeting in Boquete?
Good question!

PayPal is having some serious customer support issues. I had a problem just trying to log in. There is no phone number support on their web site or a way to contact by email. eBay spun off Pay Pal earlier this year. If you go on line you will see that there is tons of complaints about Paypay.
We have chosen not to use them anymore. Luckliey we only have $5 in the account.
