    I took Michael’s 5 Rites class two months ago. It was a one of the best things I have ever done for myself. I have been doing the exercises every day and can really feel the improvement in my physical and mental health.
    I had a bad shoulder injury about a year ago with a result of 4 pins in my shoulder and a metal plate down my arm with another 3 pins holding my shoulder together.  Since I took the rites class and continue to do my exercises every day it has helped the mobility of my arm and shoulder and totally relieved the discomfort I had with that metal plate in my arm!
    Michael is an excellent teacher and knows his subject matter thoroughly.     Michael, it has been 6 months now since I took your clinic on the five Tibetan rites and am still amazed by how increasingly healthy I feel.My energy continues to increase each week, leaving me to wonder if there is no top end to this practice and health. The five exercises have gotten easier and easier with each passing week to the point they seem effortless (even number 4, which I thought I could never do).  I have to say, rain or shine, the five Tibetan rites are an essential part of my day.

    Michael has been one of the best teachers I've had. I joined his "5 Rites Clinic" in September 2017 and when I started I could not lift my head at all when lying on the floor. Michael showed me special exercises to strengthen my neck-muscles and I have fully regained my strength to lift my head, it's really incredible. I really love it and normally do my "5 Rites" in the morning. It takes me 15-20 min max, including some intermediary stretching exercises (introduced by Michael as well).  Michael is not only a fantastic practitioner, but also an excellent teacher. With his skills, his passion and compassion he did instill a love for daily practice, which I never thought would suit me. I have to admit, the "5 Rites" have changed my life for the better and I thank Michael for convincing me to join his clinic.     I took Michael’s 5 Rites class two months ago. It was a one of the best things I have ever done for myself. I have been doing the exercises every day (along with some balance and stretching exercises) and can really feel the improvement in my physical and mental health.
    Michael is an excellent teacher and knows his subject matter thoroughly. What I truly enjoyed about his class is his enthusiasm for what he teaches and the personal attention he gives to each of his students caring for their individual needs.

I did 6 months of physical therapy which over time really helped regain movement in my arm and shoulder but not to 100% and no pain but still felt discomfort.     Most of us do not get through life without injuries whether they are physical or emotional they happen. It’s a part of life. The 5 Rites helps prevent injuries and keeps one focused on the positive of life bringing better health, clarity and improving energy levels. I would recommend this class to anyone and everyone!

    Ten weeks ago I took the Five Tibetan Rites at The Haven from Michael Cooper. I have done yoga and tai chi before and was wondering how this could be so much better. The beginning was anything but auspicious. For years I have had paroxysmal vertigo, which makes me sick to my stomach any time that I lay down or spin around. Rite one and two had me on the ropes. With Michael's direction I just pushed on. Within a week the vertigo was gone. I started thinking I could not do five reps. I did, but thought I could never increase two reps in a week. I did, and I did two more each week until I hit 21. I have not missed a day in ten weeks and don't plan on missing one ever. Almost immediately I found I had a lot more energy that was sustainable throughout the day. I have also lost 10 pounds with no change in diet, except I don't tolerate coffee as well as I used to (way to much energy now). Most importantly my stubborn high blood pressure is now normal. Overall I feel stronger, more flexible and, well, yes younger. Thank you Michael for introducing me to this miracle in my life.

    Something my husband and I can do and encourage each other while doing.
    Increased strength in weird ways, like holding the hairdryer/curling iron.
    Notice increased stamina/strength when doing occasional reps of my other exercises.
    My clothes are and continue to get looser, not only pants but sleeves on short-sleeved blouses...must go shopping!
    When on the mat for #4, I look at my calves and wonder 'Whose are these anyway?'  They look so different.
    Took monthly photos, as suggested...haven't looked at them yet.
    Like the convenience of doing it at home with comfy clothes, bare feet and a yoga mat.  Much more likely for me to keep it up if it's at home, doesn't take much time and I get noticeable results relatively quickly.
    I'm a lot stronger, more flexible and coordinated than I thought!!

    It has been a year since we began the 5 Rites exercise routine as taught by Michael at The Haven. Beginning slowly and working up to 21 repetitions seemed like a lot at the time. I am happy to say I still do the routine daily. I guess you can say it has become a part of my lifestyle. The body that stretches and moves everyday is a happy body. Doing the 5 Rites has been a big reason I don't need adjustments anymore. As a personal trainer myself I would recommend this short but powerful exercise routine for anyone and just about everyone.

    • Community Christmas Party Hosted by Amigos de Boquete Comunidad

         Marcelyn and I attended this fabulous Christmas Party at La Posada Restaurant this afternoon. Besides the usual Christmas season festivities, one purpose for this party was to collect Christmas gifts for the local children. There was no entrance fee, but attendees were asked to bring wrapped Christmas gifts for distribution by the local churches. Our estimate is that about 50 people were in attendance, and all enjoyed the fantastic music of a seven member mariachi band. What a great performance on their part; they were very good at getting the attendees involved by singing and dancing with them. La Posada had extra waitstaff to take care of drink and food orders. The party was in a large room at the rear of La Posada -- could not have been a better venue for this kind of gathering.
      The party was planned and executed by a recently formed group of expats under the name of Amigos de Boquete Comunidad (ABC). Joe Hart and his wife, Linda, along with numerous volunteers put together this festive gathering. Our hats off to Joe, Linda, and all of their elves.

    • ARF Thanksgiving Meal

         Marcelyn and I were participants in ARF's Thanksgiving Day event at the Animales Building. There was a LOT of VERY GOOD food, great conversations, visits with friends, etc. We estimate there were about 70 guests and maybe 15 worker-bees taking care of setting up, tending to the guests, etc. The background music was nice, and not so loud as to intrude into the conversations. The pecan pie was simply outstanding. Kudos to that chef! But I also do not want to take away from any of the other food items. I sampled all the food choices, and there was nothing to apologize for on that front.
      An unexpected plus for us was that we finally got to meet Beth Abrahams (it is kind of a long story, don't ask).

      We also got to catch up with all of the latest travels and happenings of our friends who were at our table. Met a few new people, etc.
      There simply was nothing that we could fault (not our goal anyway). This is the way things should be done, and ARF did it with all of their wonderful volunteers. If someone found fault with something yesterday, then I would chalk them off as being a token curmudgeon.  Thank you ARF! GREAT JOB!!!!

         I think $55 for one person is a lot of money to spend on a dinner in Boquete.  I've never spent that much for an Indian dinner anywhere.
