Airline Plans to Invest $14 million in Training Center

Copa Airlines has announced that the investment includes the expansion of its training center for pilots and the purchase of new flight simulators.

Representatives from the airline said that with the investments they will make in the training center in Clayton, district of Panama, training will be provided for the handling of the Boeing 737 MAX 9 aircraft, which will begin arriving in August.

The CEO of Copa Airlines, Pedro Heilbron, told Prensa.com that of the total amount of the investment, " ... 1.8 million dollars will be for the construction of a new building that will house the flight simulators, in addition to other areas of practice and training for pilots and it is expected to be operational by the beginning of 2019. While 12 million dollars will be for the acquisition of the new flight simulator, which has the latest technology in the industry." 

Heilbron added that " ... The expansion of the Training Center represents another milestone in the strategy of expansion and growth, as well as the incorporation of new models of aircraft to the fleet."
