His replacement? I was told today that former Ambassador John Feeley now has employment with Univision.
Penny
There are many, many ambassadorial positions going unfilled even though quality people have been nominated. Panama is way down the list of priorities from Germany so it may be years before we get a new ambassador. Inquiring minds can maybe google and find out why there is such a roadblock.
Bonnie
This article speaks to that issue, Penny, as well as to Marcelyn's having heard that Mr. Feeley has accepted employment with Univision. https://www.washingtonpost.com/world/the_americas/a-top-us-diplomat-in-latin-america-leaves-in-protest-swelling-an-exodus/2018/03/09/461ed68a-169e-11e8-930c-45838ad0d77a_story.html?utm_term=.57bfc046a160

There are roughly 65 U.S. Ambassadorial positions which are listed as VACANT. About 20 of those have nominees. http://www.afsa.org/list-ambassadorial-appointments Edited March 13, 2018 by Keith Woolford

Moderators Moderator_02 Posted March 13, 2018 Author Moderators Share Posted March 13, 2018 Just an observation that these latter postings are diverging away from Panama related content. Hint, hint.
Bonnie
Penny’s request was a good one. These sources help to explain why Panamá most likely will be without an Ambassador for some time. No political opinions; just reporting the current situation.
