Lane reversals on Trans-America highway

LANE  REVERSALS  were introduced on the Pan-American highway at noon on Saturday, December 30  to ease traffic congestion as scores of thousands of families headed for the interior to welcome the New Year.,

he investment of lanes was from the Bridge of the Americas to Arraiján from 12:00 p.m. at 4:00 p.m. and from La Espiga, in La Chorrera, to Capira from 4:00 – 6:00 p.m.

Returning
On Monday, January 1, 2018, in the direction of the capital city, the investment on the Interamerican highway will begin in El Nance de San Carlos until La Espiga in La Chorrera from 10:00 a.m. to  6:00 p.m.

The operation is conducted by the Transit Authority (ATTT) in coordination with the Directorate of Traffic Operations of the National Police.

PUBLIC OFFICES will close at noon on Thursday, March 29, and scores of thousands of Panama City residents will be heading for the Interior.

From  12 noon to   6 p.m, The Traffic Operations Office of the National Police will make a reversal of lanes from the Bridge of the Americas to Arraiján and from La Espiga de La Chorrera to Campana.

First 45,000 vehicles heading to Interior

NEARLY  45,000  vehicles joined the annual Easter crawl to the interior of Panama from  8:00 a.m. Wednesday, March 28 until 5:00 p.m., Thursday, March 29 with thousands more expected to follow to celebrate Holy Week reports the Transit Authority (ATTT).

In addition, a total of 17,873 vehicles have been registered heading into Panama City.

Hospitals throughout the country are on green alert and thousands of ATTT inspectors and security personnel are on duty on the highways to cope with errant drivers and accidents.
