Torrents of rain coming up thr hill out of David about an hour ago.   Trees and power lines in the road at the uphill curve right across from the beer plant .  Road  obstructed to a degree in two places on that old road.   Drainage ditches in David overloaded and the road flooding.  Be careful

The Transito motorcycle policeman assigned to Boquete and the Bomberos were busy this morning cleaning up after two multiple vehicle crashes that took place on clear, dry pavement before 9:30 a.m., one in front of Alto Dorado and the other at the bottom of the hill heading into Bajo.

Both incidents involved Taxis. All five vehicles that I saw were left inoperable and required towing.

Watch out.

Yes, my husband said it was messy.  That pull out at Alto Dorado (as well at the Plaza SF) can be tricky.   You can never assume the car in front will continue a turn at the same speed ( or speed up).  Getting rear-ended always concerns me.

There is another horrid crash being cleaned up on the PanAmerican highway this morning near Las Vueltas in eastern Chiriqui.

Bomberos are on site.

Expect the unexpected.

It's now been reported that this crash happened when the driver of this VW Amarok pickup swerved to avoid metal which had fallen onto the highway from a scrap truck near San Lorenzo.

The collected scrap can be seen next to the jersey barrier that the pickup smashed into.

IMO.    Watch out for these vans. Often over-crowded with passengers and I've noticed they travel on the yellow line taking their space in the middle of the roadway.

Used to think the taxi drivers were the "accident about to happen". But maybe not?
