MINSA Orders Batches of Soft Drinks and Water Pulled From Markets

THE MINISTRY of Health (Minsa), has ordered the removal of four batches of soft drinks and bottled water from store shelves.

According to a circular issued by the Director General of Health, and Minsa head of Food Protection Itza Barahona de Mosca, and the national of Minsa the products were withdrawn  after they received repeated complaints about unsatisfactory results from laboratory analysis performed on samples of the products.

After the complaints the Minsa ordered the withdrawal of the market and analysis of the lots of bottled water 1001014 and 1001149 of the mark Tropical Water.

The L3PN1259 and L1PN6485 lots of Coca Cola sweetened drinks, carbonated soft drinks and Fresh Grapefruit, carbonated soft drink from Coca Cola Femsa were also removed from the sales outlets.

The health authorities said that this type of procedures are routine in MINSA and should not cause concern
