Moderators Moderator_02 Posted March 27, 2017 Moderators Share Posted March 27, 2017 Moderator preface: Although this article addresses an issue outside of Chiriqui, there are areas of Chiriqui where these marine animals could also appear. For those who may not know, El Uverito is in the Las Tablas area of the Azuero Peninsula (south of Santiago). And finally, the manner in which the Prensa website delivers the HTML code makes it extremely difficult to capture the text for automated translation applications. Not complaining here, just explaining. For our Spanish challenged readers, perhaps this would be a good time to start thinking about taking a class in Spanish language. http://www.prensa.com/provincias/Reportan-avistamiento-serpientes-marinas-Uverito_0_4720027965.html
Keith Woolford
A number of beaches had red and yellow flags yesterday. Red and yellow flags were placed this Sunday at several beaches in the country, where the Joint Task Force (FTC), maintains coverage. The National System of Civil Protection (SINAPROC) reported that the placement of these banners are made due to the presence of marine agents, such as snakes and bad water. Between the beaches in which proceeded with this action are Malibu Gorgona, red flag; Farallon Beach and Santa Clara in Cocle, yellow flag; Playa El Uverito in the province of Los Santos, red flag; Big Island sector The Headland Beach and The Narrow in Colon, yellow flag; and in La Guaira yellow flag by sudden rains.
