Wilberto, 46, has been bed-ridden and living with his mother in Potrerillos Abajo ever since he was shot and partially paralyzed in a robbery attempt at Wilberto’s place of business. On that day he lost his mobility and his livelihood. Friends and family have rallied around him to help him find a hospital bed and to get him to doctor’s and physical therapist’s appointments. Now he needs a wheelchair , which he hopes “to borrow for a short time”. Wilberto says he is determined to walk again, and to work again to help support his mother. The program will encourage local diners to bring specific food items to the participating restaurant during a specific two-week period in order to receive a complimentary item from the restaurant and to augment BVB’s supply of food for their clients After only a few short months in this location, El Viajero is already garnering glowing reviews for their international menu and delicious food.
