Marcelyn and I were delayed in our return home yesterday evening because of this accident. It was a few minutes after 7:00pm, and traffic was really snarled. We did see the white SUV at an angle across the road. Eventually we were able to divert on a side road behind La Casa de Mi Abuela to continue our northbound leg. Had we been a few minutes earlier in our journey home, this could have been us.

We could tell it was a serious accident, and are saddened to learn of a fatality.

In a related matter, given that you mentioned a motorcycle was involved, there was some kind of motorcycle event in Boquete yesterday. We commented on our southbound leg (we live north of Bajo Boquete) earlier in the day that some of the motorcyclists were racing, dangerously fast (and with lots of noise). We have no idea if speed was involved in this accident. Just adding a sidebar comment here.

I got caught up in this last night, too, Bud. I was returning from an early dinner downtown and decided to avoid the road by the Feria because it's Orchid Festival time. I was wondering what happened and am saddened to hear there was a fatality. The detour through the neighborhood and around the accident was difficult because the roads are so narrow and there was so much traffic.

I had a near miss with a motorcycle on Friday when I rounded a curve and there was one hurdling down my side of the road. I've observed a lot of excessive speed lately, more than usual, despite all the statistics and warnings.

A senior was clipped and tossed on the main street this morning downtown just south of the Biblioteca.

I just happened by when the victim was being put on the stretcher board and he was obviously in a lot of pain.

Well

Yesterday in the social media like twitter and Facebook was this video taken from a driver at the Americas Bridge.  It is a bus turning around in the bridge.  This is totally prohibited.  Thanks to the video that shows the license plate and the model and information of the bus the authorities will take hard measures against the driver and the owner of the but for such action.
