A Housing Ministry  (Miviot) resolution that allows the felling of 34 trees in Brooklincito is illegal says Panama’s stand-in mayor Raisa Banfield.

Banfield explained that the resolution indicates that Brooklincito is located in the area of Villalobos, Pedregal, when in fact it is located in the corregimiento of Curundú.

According to the mayor in charge, the Ministry of Housing and Territorial Planning (Miviot), did not comply with what had been agreed at a meeting held on Monday, April 22. She said that the is meeting was held to find a solution to the root problem of the resolution that allows the felling of trees in Brooklincito.

Meanwhile, through its  Twitter account, the Miviot stressed that there is nothing illegal in the resolution that allows felling.

According to the Ministry reports La Prensa there are 208 families (70% of the inhabitants of Brooklincito) who support the New Brooklincito housing project, to create  apartments
