October Clinic Report

Recommended Posts

On Sunday October 28, Amigos de Animales spayed or neutered 221 animals, 100 dogs and 121 cats, with four vets working.  In addition to the usual spay/neuter, they were presented with some additional challenges which they met with their usual skill and professionalism.  We never know who or what will be presented to us at any given clinic.  What we do know is that every animal will be treated with care and compassion.

This was the last clinic of the year bringing the total of the animals that went through our clinic to 1,759 and 14,994 since our start in 2005.  That is a lot of animals!

We have so many people to thank this year.  First and foremost our vets: Dras. Chely and Amanda, and Drs. Tello, Cesar, Virgilio, Ricardo, Aaron, and Manuel all of whose dedication and hard work we gratefully appreciate and hope to see them all back with us next year.  And thanks to our visiting vets, Dra Sandy and Dr Jeff who we wish we could see more of here in Boquete. Thank you!

And where would we be without our volunteers?  Our thanks to your being with us at the clinics and staying with us through the good times and the sometimes difficult.  Over the years, we have lost some great volunteers but we always do seem to get new ones to join us and while our old friends cannot be replaced, we continue to have the best volunteers in the world! Many thanks to all for the care and attention you give to the animals who are entrusted to us at every clinic.

A special thanks to Jane Hampton and Jane Vasarhelyi who keep our kitchen running so well and ensure that all the vets and volunteers are well fed and happy throughout the day. And thank you to all those who bring in the food.  A special thanks to Heidi and Mike of Mike’s Global Grill who donate pizzas to every clinic and keep our vets going throughout the day.

Thank you to the Mayor of Boquete and the entire community which has embraced our message of spay and neuter and recognized and encouraged us to continue our work in the community.

Our next clinic will be Sunday January 27, 2019.
