Moderators Moderator_02 Posted August 31, 2018 Moderators Share Posted August 31, 2018 Quote Panama will host Latin American Baseball Series in 2020 Thu, 08/30/2018 - 15:59 Panama was confirmed as the host of the Latin American Baseball Series for 2020, a tournament that will bring together the members of the Latin American Baseball Association, which will bring together the winners of the winter leagues of Colombia, Nicaragua, Panama, Argentina and Curaçao , and the winner of the Veracruz League for Mexico. This was confirmed by the president of the Professional Baseball League of Panama, David Salayandía, who represents the country in the congress held by the Caribbean Baseball Confederation in Miami, and in which they addressed the issue of extending the Caribbean series. Salayandía said that "every time we are closer to entering the Caribbean Series and while that time comes, Panama will again host the 2020 Latin American Series and, surely, that same year, it would be a double celebration for Panamanian professional baseball." During the meeting the Latin American Baseball Association also met, which announced the inclusion of Curacao and Argentina as new participants in the tournament. The Latin American Series began in 2013 and is held annually between the end of January and the beginning of February. The next edition will be played in 2019 in Veracruz, Mexico.
