  2. Volunteers (like you) are CRITICAL to the success of DogCamp! There are about 40 DogCamp rescued dogs longing to be adopted! Caring for all these dogs is expensive and A LOT of work! A regular volunteer team assisting with the chores - feeding, walking, playing, petting, cleaning up, bathing, & laundry will provide DogCamp founders Javier and Magaly more time for the equally important work of training these rescued dogs, training DogCamp volunteers, promoting adoptions, raising money for expenses, educating families about responsible pet ownership, and rescuing more abandoned, abused, and neglected dogs. Just as it takes a village to raise a child – it takes a community of generous people to provide a successful animal rescue organization! The more these rescued dogs interact with caring people from within our community, the more socialized & well mannered they will become, resulting in more dogs being adopted into loving families desiring to properly care for them. We’ve made it easy for you to sign up and join our team! If you’re interested in becoming a part of the great things happening at DogCamp – simply click on the link below or visit our blog at Chiriqui.life and you will be directed to our volunteer calendar. Type in your name (and phone number) for the task and time slot that interests you most. Before your first scheduled day you will be contacted to make sure you have all the information you need and fully understand where DogCamp is located. VOLUNTEER CALENDAR Thank you! 17. Help us help them! Become an ARF Volunteer! Participate in an enjoyable and rewarding experience and strengthen your sense of connection to the community. Make new friends and meet people through the volunteer experience. ARF (Adopt, Rescue, Foster) is looking for volunteers to help us accomplish our goals. Our mission is to provide for the wellbeing of all companion animals; rescued, abused, and injured. Opportunities Available · Rescue Team: Get “hands on” in helping rescue those in need. · Fundraising Team: Help put together fun events for raising funds. · Fosters and Part Time Parents: Let a furry friend share your home with you - even if you are only here on a part time basis. · Food Distribution Coordinator: Keep track of those that need assistance with food and arrange for food delivery. It would be preferable if you are able to store the food at your residence. · Email Administrator: We are looking for someone to take over the ARF emails. This requires someone who can become familiar with the ARF protocols, and communicate this to volunteers and the general public. · Social Media: We are also looking for someone to post on social media. This would include our event flyers, animals for adoption and special pleas. · Represent ARF each week at the Tuesday market: Help with set up and tear down of the ARF tent and the handling of the animals we bring to show for adoption. Also, answer questions from the public regarding ARF and our work. It’s a Rewarding Experience! Contact us on arf.boquete@gmail.com or thru our website arf-boquete.com ARF is a small non-profit animal organization dedicated to the rescue, care, foster and adoption of the unwanted and neglected animals in Boquete and the surrounding areas. 18. f you are interested in helping out and joining the enthusiastic group of Jazz Festival volunteers, contact Lori Hart via e-mail at (LLHART160 at aol.com). You don't need to be available every day or all day. SUV's are best, If you have one and want to help out and personally meet some of the musicians, this is a fun opportunity. Lori Hart - who filled in for me last year when a mild heart attack put me in the hospital during the festival - is the transportation coordinator again this year. David van Harn

  21. We are looking a stationary bike A couple baseball gloves (right handed) any one who wants to volunteer translating (need not be fluent, just be able to be understood by Spanish speaker) mostly verbal. Thanks Dave
  22. Calling all carpenters and/or mechanics to volunteer to teach part-time at the Arturo Miro Rehabilitation Center for young men in Potrerillos Arriba. No prior teaching skills needed, just a strong desire to help teach a skill to young Panamanian boys who want to learn a trade. Vocational education is a "way out" for most of these young boys who can only improve their lives by learning a skill. Workshops for both carpentry and mechanics have already been established and now need volunteers to step-up to the plate and help out. If you speak some Spanish and can spare just a few hours a week to help teach a skill to young Panamanian boys, the Rehabilitation Center desperately needs your help. For more information, please all Willy Schreiber at 6781-9601.
