  2. So we are busy preparing for our show next Saturday May 6, and I was thinking about the types of music one can find at an assortment of great venues here. So, I just wanted to get some feedback from you all about the types of music you prefer: when dining at a restaurant? When attending a concert? When driving down the road or At home relaxing? When having a drink? When at a party with friends? So far I've noticed the music scene here near Boquete seems to be composed of mainly 3 areas: 1. Jazz & Blues 2. Rock: 60's, 70's & 80's and Oldies/Pop-rock 3. Latin or Hispanic Music: Salsa/Meringue/Cumbia/Samba, Cubano, Panamanian,Tejano, Mariachi, etc. Have I forgotten any? What kind of music do you prefer to listen to? What genre of concerts or shows would you like to hear more often, or attend more of in Boquete? Who is your favorite Band or Artist? What Band or Artist would make you drive to David for a concert? What type(s) of music do you prefer to listen to at Christmas time? Traditional, jazzy, new music, latin music or Spanish, hymns/carols? Easy Listening, country, singer songwriter or folk type music? World music? Thanks for your time in answering. I think this could be very eye opening for the residents and the musicians in our area! Until next time, All the best MUSIC to you! DeDe & Larry (The photo is of Larry and I doing a 60's and 70's show at the ROCK in the fall of 2016, it was so fun and there were a lot of us locals singing along and dancing in the crowd...!)
  3. We drove to David recently and noticed north of town a very large (think in terms of huge) construction project. It is on the right side while traveling south toward David. Looks to be several hectares involving many workers and lots of big equipment. Anyone know what this is about?
  4. Status: FOR SALE Price: $300,000 Address: Potrerillos Type: Farm and Ranch Style: Single Story Bedrooms: 1 Bathrooms: 2 Suite: Yes Living Area: 1,100 square feet Year Built: 2014 This beautiful ranch house newly constructed to US standards in 2014 has incredible views of Volcan Baru, the Mountains of Caldera (continental divide) and the Pacific coast toward Boca Chica with constant year around breezes. The 5.5 acres sits at about 1500' elevation and is fenced, cross fenced with about 400 meters bordering a quebrada (stream) and planted in pasture. The property is 600 meters from the main Potrerillos highway to protect the solitude and yet is close to everything with a 15 minute drive to either David or Boquete. The house features a large open area with living room, gourmet kitchen, dining area and a full bath opening onto a large porch that overlooks the Pacific. Great place to entertain. There is also a master suite that opens onto a sitting porch facing east toward the continental divide and features a large bath and laundry room. The property has 2 sources of drinking water and a private well with pump house and irrigated vivero with solar and on -grid electrical which is separately fenced and gated. Plenty of room on this property to build a separate guest house or rental casita's. The property is planted with fruit trees maranon(cashew), mango, orange, lime, lemon, pineapple, guanabana, noni, cinnamon and many flowering trees and plants. A true paradise and a must see! There are an additional 3 seperately surveyed, fenced and gated lots with power and water adjacent to this property that can be sold as one parcel. They contain another +/- 3 acres. Total ranch is 3.43 hectares. Price for all is $400,000. Contact Steve @ sg.thwoods@gmail.com
  5. Can anyone recommend a good dentist in David? If so, please give contact information. Thanks. (Some people have recommended Dr. Spiegel in the past, but neither he nor his son work in their David office now.)
  6. Hi we live in the Boquete area part-time and would love to purchase a midsize used recent model SUV. Which one(s) the best for driving around in the David/Boquete area? Also needed for hauling stuff and for hauling 4-5 people comfortably... Should we purchase in Panama or in the US and ship it over? Any warnings/ideas/kudos/issues, etc. we should know about? Any suggestions or tips are greatly appreciated! Thank you! D & L
