  1. The Chiriqui.Life website currently has two (2) different categories of audio podcasts. One of those categories is called Chiriqui.Life Podcasts, which focus on SMEs (subject matter experts) or the "movers and shakers" of the Chiriqui highlands area. Chiriqui.Life Podcasts are produced by the owners/administrators of Chiriqui.Life, namely Marcelyn Jandreau and Bud Huber. Chiriqui.Life Podcasts typically will provide information about one of two different themes: One theme will feature subject matter experts (SMEs) and "movers and shakers" in various fields of endeavor, or owners/operators of entities that may be of interest to the members of this website. The other theme will be community service type subject matter, such as an audio recording of a presentation at the Tuesday Talks series that are hosted by the BCP, etc. The other category of audio podcasts is called Chiriqui.Life Stories, which focus on locals and expatriates who are living an extraordinary life and contributing to our special community. This podcast features Blaise Dismer: patient, teacher, licensed clinical social worker, blogger, singer, and comedian. Blaise confronted and has overcome a serious affliction known as agoraphobia. His professional life focused on helping others overcome their anxiety disorders. Blaise and his wife are living in Boquete on a six month "trial residency", both having recently retired. They are about halfway through their trial residency. Nina and Baris truly are an international couple. They have lived in New York, Puerto Rico, Liberia, and Istanbul before settling in Boquete. Nina began legal training as an attorney, but became disenchanted with the "system". She then turned to teaching English as a second language. Baris was a fashion designer in New York and his native Turkey. Baris is also an artist and a musician. Nina recently learned how to make baklava, which has led to other culinary pursuits. She talks about the challenges of her young years that got her involved with both alcohol and drugs. As a young adult she decided that she wanted more for her life and so she changed her outlook and actions. She has advanced degrees, but changed career paths on several occasions as she was finding what worked best for her.   9. This is the sixth in a series of audio podcasts by Michael Schwartz -- Chiriqui Life Stories. The subject of this podcast is Mike and Heidi Rehm, the owners of the Mike's Global Grill in Boquete. They tell their stories of their early years and then their initial professional careers before they met and worked in Alaska, again independently but in close proximity to each other. Then they both started working on assignment at the South Pole Station in Antarctica. That is where they met, got engaged, and later returned to the US and got married. Her parents insisted that she learn her native Swedish language, and so she and her sister spent many of their childhood years on an island off the coast of Sweden, learning the culture, the language, the history, and the work ethics of the Swedish people. In the 1940s, Inga's parents purchased what is known today as the Hotel Panamonte, and upon their passing, Inga and her husband took over operations of that landmark hotel, along with their fishing business.
