  1. I don't think it's about that particular circumstance or they wouldn't have said they'll never return. It sounds as if they're angry about the new policy. It's their choice to make, as Keith said, but I wonder if they also stay away from other restaurants that don't allow dogs. My guess is that the Sailors do frequent those restaurants, so I don't get why they would choose to stay away from SG's when doggie is at home.
  2. I'm surprised that someone would refuse to visit a restaurant because they have a no pet policy. That really must restrict your choices for eating out! I'm not sure if you're angry because they changed the policy or if you just don't ever eat out without your dogs, but I do think the new owner has the right to change to a policy, which most restaurants have, without being boycotted. That being said, I used to love the felafel sandwich at Senior Gyro, but when I went a few weeks ago, it was awful. It was filled with giant chunks of tomato, the bread was soaked and turned to mush and the felafel disintegrated. I'm not sure what the difference was to make it so bad, perhaps the amount of tomato, which far outweighed the felafel. I'll give it another try some time to be sure it wasn't an anomaly.
  3. It doesn't sound anything like IL too me. IL is targeted toward people looking to live internationally. This new site appears to be focused on events and classifieds. I don't see the parallel.
  4. Who cares? In the States if you want to sell your car you can post it in your local newspaper, on Craigslist, auto trader, cars.com, and any number of other places. And if you want to know what's happening in your area you check Facebook, your local newspaper, listen to the radio or whatever else. In my opinion, if All About Boquete continues pushing their site the way they have been, more people will go in that direction. Right now they appear to be very busy getting visibility. Honestly, if I were going to rent my house today, I'd post it there.
  5. It's unfortunate. But the food is really good and if you can get one of the outside tables it's great. They also package food to go. The music was loud but not of a particularly annoying genre, in my opinion. I just don't get the lights.
  6. I stopped by Pokotitos at San Francisco plaza tonight for a quick dinner on my own. Here are my observations. Why I would go back: Vegetarian options, yaay! Very friendly! Great food! Good pricing! What I didn't like: Strobe lights Loud music Conclusion: I like this place. I ordered vegetarian spaghetti, two glasses of wine and a brownie with ice cream for $16. I also got a small bowl of delicious steamed potatoes before my meal. I didn't order them and saw them being delivered to each table, so maybe it's a thing. There are two outside tables which will save you from the loud music and strobe lights. It's close to my house, affordable and has plenty of vegetarian options. I will definitely go again. For my own reason, I do not eat at The Garden so it's nice to have an alternative in the plaza.
  7. Wango Tango Shuttles. I have no personal knowledge but saw the Facebook post https://www.facebook.com/groups/272307446243305/permalink/902888966518480/?sale_post_id=902888966518480
  8. Thanks again Judy. We do keep pred on hand for when he's particularly bad. I've never known anyone else who had an asthmatic cat!
  9. LOL, well he is a weirdo and I would miss him. But, no, the cat.
  10. Thanks Judy! I do use Ventolin as a rescue inhaler but he needs the Flovent daily or he goes right back into having severe attacks. I have not tried Beclate however, so I'll research it. Thanks for recommending! He's come close to dying a few times over the years, poor buddy. I'd really miss the weirdo
  11. until

    July 22, not 18.
  12. Is Avilla a pharmacy? I've tried to get Flovent at Any, Revilla, and Danka. No go. I have to go to Rey in David to get them.
  13. CO2 and skin odor have nothing to do with where they breed. Some research has shown preference of odors to who/where they bite.
  14. It depends. Mosquitoes are attracted to water in order to lay their eggs. They breed in standing water, black grey, clear, whatever, but not water that is being disturbed, such as on streets where cars are driving through. They lay their eggs at the edge of standing water. Moving water will scour away the larvae, so not a great breeding ground. I'm not an entomologist but I have been involved in Dengue research with some anecdotal exposure to Zika and Chikungunya via my colleagues and have some knowledge of the mosquitoes that carry the diseases.
  15. No, zika, malaria and dengue are mosquito borne viruses. They cannot be transmitted via sewage. The only caviat, is there are a couple of instances where it seems that zika may have been transmitted through sexual contact and so I will not rule out other modes of transmission until further research is done.
  16. My cat, yes my cat, has severe feline asthma and requires a daily dose of Flovent, or Flixotide. I was able to get it at Any in the past, then they stopped carrying it. Revilla had it for the last year but they haven't had it the last three times I've checked. Romeros, no. Today I stopped at the pharmacy at the park and they don't have it either. Certainly there must be someone in Boquete who has asthma and uses Flovent. I've asked both Revilla and Any to order it for me. They say they will, I go back and they haven't. I can get the Albuterol with no problem, but he has to have the Flovent too. Am I missing a pharmacia in town that might carry it? My kitty will die without it so I go to David but man, I'd rather get it here.
  17. When I came across this puppy, he was curled in a ball, unable to even lift his head. The owner said he was sick and he could not pay a vet, so he put him out at the street. Not only is he sick but he was starving as well. I brought him to my house and offered him a little cat food, as that's all I had. While he could not stand up, he literally gobbled down the food I gave him. After less than a day of nutritious food and care at casa de Los animals, the video attached shows how he was finally able to get up on his wobbly legs. It's clear that this puppy, while sick, is able to eat but was not fed. If in fact he does have distemper, at least he was not left to die starving at the side of the road in the rain. 18. Patty is an excellent pet and house sitter. We have used her many times. She takes wonderful care of our house and cat who has feline asthma and requires and inhaler treatment. Patty is dependable, honest and trustworthy. She is also fully bilingual. I highly recommend her. Message me if you'd like more information.
  19. I'm at the cafe at this moment. The croissant are about the size of both of my hands. Must be my lucky day!
  20. 10-1 today in front of the library. Come get yourself some of these babies. Fresh out of the oven, huge cinnamon rolls and lots more. While they last.
