    I call it your self imposed quota. For years in human resources our ratio ran above or below. We documented all interviews with experience, fit, knowledge etc for each candidate with documented feedback of all interviewers. We never failed an audit in 20 years. Use this best practice and don't pull any shady crap and you won't lose.

    You clearly don't understand affirmative action. Quotas are explicitly forbidden in the regulation.

    Disagree. Place of birth does not necessarily determine origin. I was born in Germany, left when I was two and lived in Africa for the next 14 years. I am however, an American of US Nationality.

    Is a reservation required for the music and tapas? Is that separate from the dinner?

    Most companies would not have diversity quotas unless they were a part of an affirmative action requirement. I have never heard the term legally diverse workforce.

    I didn't know that pinching my butt had to do with Sharia law. But let me tell you this, the only hyphonated Americans I've been groped by are the Arrogant-Drunk-White-Man-Oversixty ones.

    We bank with Charles Schwab in the US. They refund all our foreign ATM fees once a month. When we bought a car here, we simply called and asked for a one time exemption on the daily limit. The banker stayed on the phone with us while we withdrew the money to be sure we had no issues. You do need a US address in order to bank with Schwab. We've been here 7 years and have never found the need to have a Panama bank.

    Wow! If you missed this free event at the library tonight, you missed a doozy. It was a fabulous evening of excellent classical music. We are so lucky to have these programs brought to us by Biblioteca de Boquete ?

    This urban legend has been floating around the internet for years without substantiation. Unless someone knows this has actually happened, this "warning" is about as helpful as warning you that someone may throw dog crap at your windshield. You'll also find Utube videos trying to replicate the "egg and water, when they join, form a viscous substance like milk that will prevent you from seeing where you are going, blocking your vision as much as 90%" scenario without success.

    Mamie's class is great. I'm trying to get back in shape after a couple of surgeries and this class is just what I needed. There are people in the class that are both above and below my fitness level and it all works. Terrific class Mamie!

    All the bands were too loud. They were each good, it's just the building is too small for rock bands. Another note that I've heard a few times is that because the Emma food truck menus we're on the table, people thought that was the only food option. It took us a while to realize that the other vendors were there.

    There was some polka music between the bands. I'm guessing ompah bands are hard to come by here ?. My suggestion for next year would be to forget the live music and just spin some Oktoberfest tunes.

    I don't mind paying $2 for a beer when it's for a good cause. If I want the $.69 beer, I stay home and drink it. We all agreed, the music was too loud but we had a good time anyway. We arrived at 1 and stayed until 7:30!!

    Saw them today at Super Baru hanging on an end cap at the front of the store near the bakery.

    I will Judy, as soon as I have a place for her to go. I stole/borrowed her to take her to the spay clinic and boy we're they pissed when I brought her back! Ha, too bad. I'm sure as legalities go, my taking her is no worse than them starving her, so...

    ARF has no place to put any more dogs. This one is safest here right now so that I can monitor her until she gets a home

    Thank you Dottie. And we have spoken with the owners, but they are awful people and, until I can get the dog away from them, I don't want to go any further for fear they will mistreat her more. They have no fear of the law as they are in jail regularly. After I have her safely away, believe me, I will file and I have many pictures and witnesses!

    I'm dealing with a very similar situation with a very similar looking dog, Dottie. She's as sweet as can be after being neglected by our neighbor. And after 3 litters, we finally have her spayed. We feed her daily and are trying to find her a new home. In the mean time, she still lives with the bastards who tied her up and starved her.

    Some let me know they are on vacation. Must be a long vacation because we've been trying to dine there since early August. A small sign would go a long way.

    When is restaurant Il Pianista open? Went on a Tuesday, closed. Went on a Wednesday, closed. Went tonight, closed. I love the place but am getting pissed driving up there for nothing. Is there something I'm missing?
