  1. It appears feeding people has priority over a bridge. No brainer. Good planning for a bridge down the road.
  2. Medellin (Parque Arvi) has an identical one. Great view of the ENTIRE city on the way to Parque Arvi. Also, the Mass Transit System ends at the Gondola Ride Pick Up Point with taxi and bus rides leaving for all of Medellin. Across from Cefati would a great place for Park N Ride, Gondola start point and all other transit systems.
  3. Corruption has a lot to do with it. When dollars are handled by crooks outside and inside of Panama City you see the results. For example, form 080 (deputado expenditures) and the bus buy back program. One look at road conditions and schools is tell all on the tax base stealing. The poor will suffer until some form of transparency is kept on the front burner and class warfare is engaged more. Increase wages and stop working people for $15 a day. Track taxes at cash registers closely. I know plenty of stores that sell a little cheaper if NO factura is ask for. That in itself is a serious tax base problem country wide. We will see what NITO does. He made a lot of promises and so did Varela. There are a lot of foreigners stealing work illegally in Panama. Some are in Boquete. You do NOT have to work here to pay taxes. People need to have sufficent funds to live off of here and not take work from Panamanians. Just a few observations from living in David and Boquete. I still love it here.
  4. until

ate there 3 times. disappointed all three times with service and quality of food.
  5. The highway on the west side of Valle Anton has great asphalt now. I would have turned around and came back down If there had been enough space to turn around. Since there wasn't enough room to escape, I continued to the top. This is the steepest paved road in Panama. Paso Canos to Volcan is nothing compared to Valle Anton.
  6. I golf with one of the members of Panama City Chamber Of Commerce. He made the same statements as this article to me months ago. He has the inside information. After all, he is the new President's brother-in-law. We will see-----the assembly has a lot of control over this country that needs to be changed. Corruption and the Assembly will be the first problems to be solved in my opinion. He was on the Chamber Of Commerce long before Nito ran for office.
  7. If you are carrying an american passport be very carefull. You might be in trouble under the current president's administration if traveling to cuba.
  8. Amazing architecturally designed building. The history inside is amazing. Chiriqui has displays in there also.

  11. She translated some legal documents for me needed in the USA. She has the appropriate stamps accepted in the USA. Prompt and reasonable.
  12. One look at the schools in Panama tells you the priority is not there. I've heard that for many years here. Nothing is ever done about it. Why? Once in office the tide turns for the worse.
  13. Yes we are experiencing fluctuations (higher speed). Usually in the mornings. No consistency in the increased speed during the peek hours. So, it is actually not in favor of the customers. I will continue to believe band width is the main problem. Maybe Cabla Onda can support new technology that increases the size of compression packets of data one day------They are not replacing the fiber optics in the area with more band width at this time. We have 30mg and some people have 60, 100. For all three speeds during peek hours the speed is the same. I have to remember where we are!
  14. We experienced the start of the project this week. As in Florida, concrete highways (interstates) were replaced with asphalt. Concrete highways have always buckled up. I do not know if they are going to replace the concrete in Chiriqui but they are laying asphalt on a new emergency lane starting in Bugaba and heading East to David.

    Spain, France, Andorra

Great vacation. The best part was visiting three countries in one day. The last snow I was in was 1978. Baga, Northern Spain is a medieval time pueblo, Ax-Les-Thermes (Ax-les-Thermes is a commune in the Ariège department in the Occitanie region of south-western France. The inhabitants of the commune are known as Axéens or Axéennes), Andorra, (Andorra is a tiny, independent principality situated between France and Spain in the Pyrenees mountains. It’s known for its ski resorts and a tax-haven status that encourages duty-free shopping.) Monserrate Monestary (The history of Montserrat is fascinating and started in 880 when a small group of shepherd children saw a bright light descending from the sky in the Montserrat mountains.) Sagrada Familia Basilica (Guadi Architect)---The Basílica Temple Expiatori de la Sagrada Família is a large unfinished Roman Catholic church in Barcelona, designed by Catalan architect Antoni Gaudí. La Sagrada Família will take longer to complete than the Egyptian pyramids, which only took 20 years.
