Several people came up to me after the talk very concerned about the possible bad effects of the proton pump inhibitor class of drugs (omeprazole (Prilosec, Losec), dexlansoprazole (Dexilant), esomeprazole (Nexium), lansoprazole (Prevacid), pantoprazole (Protonix), rabeprazole (Aciphex)). At the time the only alternatives I could think of were ranitidine and cimetidine. However, in catching up with my reading I see that Life Extension magazine has recently published an article with details about a couple of unconventional therapies which might help. The article is here. You must take it with a little grain of salt, of course, as Life Extension Foundation sells a product containing these ingredients.
