  1. Hola... My friend is wanting to spend a couple of months here in Boquete (or close by!) in Feb/March. She is okay with a "humble" rental... the biggest concern of hers is that there is a fenced/secure yard for her dog. She is currently in Costa Rica -- spening less than $300 for a rental... I told her to expect a bit more, but she cannot go past $450 MAX. I'm reaching out here on CL to see if anyone may have a rental that meets those parameters. If yes, please contact me! :) Thanks, Joy
  2. A hungry, young Mama Cat & her three babies appeared a few days ago, seeking food and love -- both of which I am able to provide, but only temporarily. Kittens are estimated to be approx. 5-6 weeks; Mama estimated to be around 1 year old -- none are yet 'fixed' or with vaccinations. The plan is to foster them until they are ready to be adopted (another few weeks). They are scheduled for NEXT month's animales clinic for operations & shots. They are a sweet, loving, and seemingly healthy feline family. Ideally, the two female kittens would adopt together -- as they seem to share a special bond. If you, or anybody you know, would like to become a "forever home" to any of these kittens and/or mama cat, please contact me.

  12. After much evaluation (and a few tears) I have come to the decision to close the Fénix Cafe. The cafe will be operating and slowly winding down through the month of September. Previously scheduled events (including Mexican Train groups, Drum Circle, Belly Dance classes, etc) will continue throughout the month. I am deeply appreciative of the opportunity I have had to develop the Fénix. Not only were many invaluable lessons learned, but more so, authentic connections were made that go beyond the six walls of the Hex Room… relationships that will continue to grow and evolve. I am thrilled with all that has transpired, even if it was for a ‘brief flash' of 4 months. It was this time that has given me a chance to evaluate the cafe as a business, and also my own work-life balance. As much as the cafe has been a Labor of Love… I very much look forward to once again having the time and space to focus on other passions, in particular Yoga, Massage, and Graphic Design. Sometimes it takes a new lens to bring other realizations into focus. ;-) Yoga Boquete will continue to hold classes on its regular schedule in the BCP Hex Room, until further notice. I do not know what the BCP’s plans are for the space, but I hope it continues to develop into a shared community space. A big THANK YOU to all who have supported this endeavor. Remember, this is not goodbye… this a just another transformation … (That’s the nature of a Fénix , after all.) Much Love to All, Joy
  13. As the owner of the Fénix Cafe, I think it is important to note that any and all donations go 100% to the Film Club. The Fénix does not receive a percentage of the donations. All revenue for the Fénix is generated through food and drink sales. Some, come on down -- watch a great film, and enjoy a meal and tasty beverage. ;-) Joy

  15. Hola All, I manage a property here in town. Recently the property's fabulous cleaning woman retired, and I am looking for a replacement. This is not a set schedule, but rather cleaning either the upper unit or lower unit in between guest check-ins. Any and all suggestions appreciated! gracias, Joy
