  1. The date of January 23 is correct. However the year is 2019, not 2018! Sorry for the confusion. I hope all new and returning volunteers will attend and help us get the 2019(!) clinics off to a great start.
  2. Clinic Maintenance is what we pay for cleaning after the clinics - it gets a good deep clean. we also clean before and after any events held there. Clinic Supplies are basic things like paper towels, vasoline, alcohol, etc. Medical is things we use for the procedure. this month we purchased a large quantity of sutures - this can also refer to needles, syringes, sterile gloves, sterile gauze, etc. Vet Services is the amount we pay to the vets.
  3. Hi Jim, what Bonnie says is correct. Preparation and set up for the Venta de Patio is always somewhat chaotic. If you do not get a personal thank you, that does not mean that your donation was unappreciated. Believe me, it was. Our event is successful because of people like you who donate food as well as plants, clothes, and all manner of household items. I wish we could thank every donor personally, but since we cannot, we do send out a big blanket thank you at the end of the event to everyone in the community who participated. I hope you will change your mind and donate some of your biscotti after all. Again many thanks to you and all our wonderful donors and volunteers.
  4. Please note that the event is taking place as usual at the El Cacho gimnasio in Boquete, NOT at the Animales Events Center. We hope to see you all there!
  5. Fundacion Amigos de Animales Boquete held its Annual Meeting on January 28, 2016. Notice of the meeting was posted in advance and all were invited to attend - over 60 people did. At the meeting, all of Animales activities from 2015 were discussed and the financial report was presented. Questions were welcome. Also, the fund-raising plans for 2016 were discussed and the budget for the year was presented. The treasurer for Animales is a CPA and can account for every penny that comes in or goes out. All our finances are reported to a Panamanian accountant as well. The Annual Report will be posted on our web site when I return from the US next week. As always, the full financial report is available upon request; it is neither complicated nor difficult to obtain. All are invited to volunteer at or visit and observe our clinics. Sent from my iPad
