I have been looking since late 2019 for a house painter. At this point it's getting to be a very serious problem. Every contractor I approach ignores the request. Does anyone know of a reliable, skilled painting contractor who wants the work?

Hello all, I'm not sure if this section of the forum is where this question should be posted, but here goes: my family is getting close to our move date (late April, early May) and I'm researching international movers. I know about Rainier. I also know there are quite a few others, apparently of varying quality. In the past we were scammed by a shady moving company and had to report them to the US Department of Transportation and the FBI. I don't want to get into that nightmare again. Did anyone have a positive experience with a mover who shipped belongings from the US to western Panama at a fair price? Any companies to avoid? Thanks in advance for any feedback.

Hi all, my family and I are moving to Boquete this spring. We are taking care of logistical matters now. I registered for a mail box account with Mail Boxes, Etc. account through their Boquete web site. It auto-filled a Florida shipping address (I understand the system, so I know why that happened). I have called this Florida office, Googled it, tried every way I could to make contact. There are 2 phone numbers that have no voice mail, no email, no website. This is very strange. Does anyone know what is going on at 2250 NW 114th Ave, Unit 1P, Miami, FL? I messaged MBE in Boquete to ask the same question but have not heard back. Thanks for any help folks can offer.

I am not actually in Boquete yet, but I've been wiring money from BOA to my account at Scotia Bank with no problem at all. I asked BOA if using a MBE street address would be a problem, and they said absolutely not. At Scotia Bank we were told that if we planned to wire a large amount of money that we should notify them 24 hours in advance. That said, I've had no problem.

Greetings, My family and I are moving to Boquete this spring. Can anyone recommend, based on current conditions, a reliable ISP and cell phone carrier? Cost, speed, reliability, etc. It seems that things change in this area often, so I'm asking for current recommendations. With gratitude, Mary

As someone who is in the process of relocating to Boquete, I wonder when you were in the "north country" last. In my city, in the Northeast US, there is broken glass, heroin needles, beer bottles, and trash all over the streets, even in nice neighborhoods. I just didn't see that in Boquete. In lovely, touristy New England, we have power outages, crime, gun violence, regular sewer main collapses (most were installed in the 1800's), epidemic opioid addiction, homelessness, and bitter partisan political hatred. To quote JimAndNena, "you can apply all the lipstick you want, it is still a pig." I guess I prefer the Panamanian variety, and am eager to adapt, adjust, learn, and contribute to a small community in meaningful ways. Will Boquete be perfect? That's the wrong question to ask. It is what it is. We are all free to make choices.
