Shortly after my original post (3pm), I received word from a reliable source that he had just driven from David to Boquete with no problem.
The utility bill suggestion is excellent.

I have heard of a roadblock in Dolega which is enforcing the quarantine and preventing travel between Boquete and David. Has anyone actually experienced this or have first-hand knowledge?

My car's temp gauge tracked at 35 centigrade, which is what the weather services reported. Plenty hot enough!

Yes--Transmisiones Panama on the Panamericana just past the stoplight for Calle F Sur (Dairy queen, McDonalds, etc.). Phone 774-1039 or Guillermo's cell at 6747-9457; he speaks English.

This is a basic Intuos Wacom tablet/pen. For working with Photoshop and Lightroom and other apps. New in the box; used 1-2 hours.
My hands shake too badly so I must use a mouse.

Does anyone know if the starting point of the cabalgata will remain the same this year (that is, on Calle F Sur--McDonald's street)? The gathering/starting point is a good to take photos.

Imagine their surprise when the folks from Santiago arrive in David and look for the on-ramp to the new Boquete highway!
Or perhaps not....

Another source of information about the invasion is the documentary "The Panama Deception."

We passed by the Fish House at 12:20pm Wednesday--it was open!

This is a Mexican popular art shop which also sells very good Mexican food. The meals are cooked off-site and heated for customers. We had tamales and flautas which were excellent, and enchiladas con mole, which were even better! The owner is Mexican.
There is no beer or liquor; I will bring a flask or carry out. Rose had reheated enchiladas the next day and loved them.
They serve food daily from 11am to 8pm; Saturday 11 to 4pm, and closed Sundays. The shop itself opens an hour earlier.
It is easy to find: coming from Boquete, on the street from the Panamericana going to Hospital Chiriqui, it is a large building on the right, some 3 or 4 stops from the Panamericana.

I went yesterday with my Panamanian family, and we were quite pleased. The food has a light touch and is not as spicy as the Vietnamese food I had in Chicago. Drinks are limited--2 brands of beer, Balboa and Coor Light. Parking is easy in the Romero lot next to McDonald's. They asked if we wanted the Pensionado discount; "Well, sure...."
We plan on returning and trying more items on the menu.

They also have UNSALTED Mixed Nuts! A premium mix which is healthier and not as addicting as salted nuts.

Yes--this is the former Parmigiano. The same chef is there making wonderful pizzas.

The cabalgata is held every year on March 19, the patron saint day of David, San Jose de David. This year it is a Saturday.According to the mayor's office, it will begin in the large field near the stoplight at the intersection of the Pan Americana and "Mac Donald's street" (Calle F Sur), go downtown past Cervantes park, and end at the Parque de las Madres on "Super Baru street."It normally steps off around 3pm. I like to show up at the starting point around 2pm to take photos.
Not to be missed!

I want to apologise to anyone who travelled to David for the cabalgata that did not happen! In announcing the event I checked with several sources and tried--and failed--to avoid the bias of hopeful expectations.
