  1.    This is a Mexican popular art shop which also sells very good Mexican food.  The meals are cooked off-site and heated for customers.  We had tamales and flautas which were excellent, and enchiladas con mole, which were even better!  The owner is Mexican.

There is no beer or liquor;  I will bring a flask or carry out.  Rose had reheated enchiladas the next day and loved them.

They serve food daily from 11am to 8pm; Saturday 11 to 4pm, and closed Sundays.  The shop itself opens an hour earlier.

It is easy to find: coming from Boquete, on the street from the Panamericana going to Hospital Chiriqui, it is a large building on the right, some 3 or 4 stops from the Panamericana.

  3.   I  went yesterday with my Panamanian family, and we were quite pleased.  The food has a light touch and is not as spicy as the Vietnamese food I had in Chicago.  Drinks are limited--2 brands of beer, Balboa and Coor Light.  Parking is easy in the Romero lot next to McDonald's.  They asked if we wanted the Pensionado discount; "Well, sure...."

We plan on returning and trying more items on the menu.

  4.   The cabalgata is held every year on March 19, the patron saint day of David, San Jose de David.  This year it is a Saturday.
According to the mayor's office, it will begin in the large field near the stoplight at the intersection of the Pan Americana and "Mac Donald's street" (Calle F Sur), go downtown past Cervantes park, and end at the Parque de las Madres on "Super Baru street."
It normally steps off around 3pm.  I like to show up at the starting point around 2pm to take photos.

       Not to be missed!
