Might be worthwhile attending if a person is traveling to, or moving to, New York.

That is interesting! Seems like that would be stepping on the local police departments feet! Wonder how they would feel if the Panama Embassy sent Boquete police to talk to the citizens of NY about senior safety. Why is the State Department wasting taxpayers money to fly, accommodations, meals, for these officers all the way from NY? Doesn't the Embassy have a  safety officer they could send instead?

I don't mind paying $2 for a beer when it's for a good cause. If I want the $.69 beer, I stay home and drink it. We all agreed, the music was too loud but we had a good time anyway. We arrived at 1 and stayed until 7:30!!

Totally agree. It was a charity event!

  3. We attended this event as well. Considering that this was the first one ( of hopefully an annual event)  we thought it was very well organized and pre-planned for. Lots of volunteers and servers waiting on everyone. Food and beverages received very quickly. Of course, there is room for improvement and the organizers are probably well aware of it for next years planning.

A big Thank you to all!!  You folks came together and pulled off a nice event!

Marcelyn and I attended this classical music performance at the library yesterday afternoon. We were impressed, even though the musicians were young and amateurs (meaning not paid, professional musicians). They were good, and the audience showed their appreciation with strong applause.

It was a standing room only event. Every seat was taken, and conservatively speaking there were several dozen people standing at the rear of the room. We were pleased to see so much support for this kind of event. During the comments at the end of the event there was some suggestion that more frequent musical events at the library are being considered. We hope so.

    Here is the full program:

There were some speeches after the concert, including some comments by Price Peterson, who apparently had helped cause this event to come to fruition.

And finally, here is a small video clip of part of one of their musical pieces:

Very cool! Soon to be stars!
